    ABOUT DISTRICT COURT

    In ancient times, Washim was the capital of King Wakatak, also known as Vatsagulm. During British regime, Washim acquired the status of a district due to its strategic location. Hemadpanthi temples and numerous ponds have made the district famous. Washim is a district headquarter town in the Vidarbh region in Maharashtra. However, this place has a reference in Padama Purana in Ancient period of Indian history. In Washim itself, there are five historical places, viz.- 1) Lord Balaji Temple, 2) Padmatirtha, 3) Daridrya Harantirth, 4) Gondeshvara Temple, and- 5) Balaji Pond.
    In Washim Judical District, there are Six Taluka places, viz.- 1) Washim, 2) Malegaon, 3) Manglurpir, 4) Karanja, 5) Risod, and- 6) Manora. At present, there is Additional District Judge -1 and Sessions Judge Court at Manglurpir, and however, Additional District Judge -1 and Sessions Judge Court at Karanja & Risod are likely to be established in near future. The Collector Office, other Revenue Offices, S.P. Office, Treasury Office, Zilha Parishad, and Bus Stand are situated within an half Kilometer away from the premises of District Court, Washim.
